Scheduled for completion late 2023 this new shared path will improve connectivity between key recreational hubs on Telegraph Road and Roghan Road, including the Bill Brown Sports Reserve Netball Courts, Emily Seebohm Aquatic Centre, Bracken Ridge Skate Plaza and BMX facility and Hidden World Playground and dog park.
UPDATE: This path is now open as of November 4 2023 and what a fine path it is. It connects the Hidden World playground and Telegraph road via a smooth asphalt surface and is illuminated for safety.
The project will involve:
- constructing a new 850-metre-long concrete shared path through Bill Brown Reserve
- installing six culverts along the project alignment to allow drainage
- constructing an active transport bridge crossing over the waterway adjacent to Telegraph Road
- constructing a new shared path entry that will connect to the existing shared path on Telegraph Road
- removing some trees along the project alignment and replanting native trees in the local area
- installing LED path lighting along the shared path
- installing wayfinding signage and line marking along the shared path
- installing fencing along the shared path in the reserve.
